We wish to announce that the Spring 2018 Dance Recital will take place at the Father Robert V. Carney Performing Arts Center at Pius XI High School.

Heidi Stevens graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in modern dance, focusing on the relationship between human movement and feelings. Her abilities and skills to dance and perform began at an early age, and continued to develop while attending Dance Defined Studio as a fourteen-year student.

She participated in numerous dance competitions and conventions throughout the Midwest. During her training at UWM, she had the opportunity to perform in a variety of faculty works, studying with Ed Burgess, Marcia Parsons, Janet Lilly, Simone Ferro, Andre Tyson, Darcy Wutz, and the founder of KO-THI Dance Company, Ferne Culker-Bronson.

After attending college, she began her career instructing children and adults of all ages and abilities in a variety of dance styles at various studios and dance companies. Her education and performance repertoire included tap, jazz, ballet, modern, lyrical and African dance.

In obtaining this seasoned background, she since has taken ownership of Dance Defined Studio in New Berlin, WI as director/instructor. All of her time, labor, and talent emerged into her studio, creating an atmosphere that is energetic, inspiring, and productive. Today, her love and passion for dance continues to develop, and her devotion transpires through her students.

Stacie Ermis has been dancing since the age of seven.  She has been trained in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Performance, Hip Hop and Street Jazz.  Throughout her dance career, she has had the opportunity to train with Marty Dew, Brian Friedman, Barry Youngblood, Laurie Johnson and Keri LaGrand, among others  Stacie has participated in several dance conventions & competitions internationally, winning many Platinum and Gold awards with the Midwest Connection Dance Company.

Stacie has performed as a backup dancer for several Disney talents, has danced at BCS Bowl Games, Milwaukee Brewer Games, Olympic Games Torch Passing Ceremonies, Summerfest, and countless festivals throughout Wisconsin, as well as dancing for the Milwaukee Wave for three seasons.

Stacie is entering her thirteenth year of teaching and choreographing, specializing in Hip Hop and Lyrical Ballet.  Her choreography has been featured in award winning performances and nationally acclaimed dance competitions, such as Tremaine Dance and Star Talent Dance.

We are excited to have our new instructor, Mallory Saladino, join us this year.

Mallory has had a love for dance since a very early age, starting with her first dance class at the age of 3. She has been a member of the Kids Company, Junior Company, and the Midwest Connection Dance Company. While in the MCDC she was a member of the Milwaukee Wave’s dance team, “Splash”, a Radio Disney Dancer, and had the opportunity to participate in Tremaine and competitions.

Mallory started teaching dance as a freshman in high school and taught until she was 21. Dance was put on hold when she moved to Nashville, TN for school. She graduated in 2014 from Middle Tennessee State University and moved back to Wisconsin.

Despite being away for nearly 10 years dance has always been her passion.
